I just wanted to let you all know what’s up with Tails!
As some of you may know, Tails has been under active (albeit part-time) development for somewhere around a year. In this time a lot of really neat stuff has happened to the Rails framework which we’re simply not using – because it didn’t exist when we built some of our features.
I’m currently in the process of bringing Tails’ code bang up-to-date. We’ll be using RJS, reponds_to for javascript failover, DOM-based inline editing, and more – expect these things to be deployed over the next few weeks and for them to also be completely invisible, since it’s behind-the-scenes stuff.
But you can take solace in the fact that it’s there, right?
People using firefox and other colour profile-ignoring browsers rejoice – Tails’ graphics should look much richer and have a better contrast for you now.
You’ll notice your tickets now tell you if the rating was upgraded or downgraded recently, which is exponentially more useful than just saying the rating was changed to X.
Enjoy!
If you’ve been testing Tails and have had good use out of it, or have had your workflow improved, or have even been able to improve your work, we want you for tailshq.com’s upcoming “stories” section.
I’ll be contacting each of you individually about this, but get your thinking caps on if you’re interested in providing some prose.
It’s actually designed to be the fallback or “all results” page for the floodlight AJAX search due after launch – but it also does things the standard way.
Enjoy!
